Growing Up

This weekend ended up being super busy, but still doesn’t feel like I accomplished a whole lot. But, more importantly, we made a big purchase yesterday. Yes, probably the biggest purchase we have made together since we moved to Milwaukee.

Our trip first started yesterday after I put in some time at the gym. I wanted to do the Cycling class at 9:15 and even made it there but the class was full when I arrived! Apparently more people like that class now so I’ll have to get there earlier next time. I ended up doing 25 min incline walk on the treadmill, 10 min on the stairmaster (gah), some ab work & tricep work. My triceps are pathetic so I try to focus on those more than any other part of my arm.

First furniture stop…

Furniture Deals & Steals! We had been here a few months before just to look around since it is closing down. Let’s just say…they were not very steal-worthy so we quickly moved on.

An Ashley Furniture store was right by Deals & Steals so we decided to look around just in case. We went in knowing it would be out of our price range, but wanted to check to be sure.

I needed a break after a while. The sales guy basically laughed at our price range and didn’t really help us out.

Or maybe this is why he didn’t try to help us…

A very, very comfortable couch. Which was $3000. Uh, yeah.

Onward we went!

We saw in ad for this Hobo place and decided to check it out as well. They had maybe 3 couches and that’s it.

By this point, we were feeling a little disappointed but were hoping that the JcPenny furniture outlet would have our perfect couch.

LOTS of sofas. Tons & tons of sofas…and maybe 20 L shape sectional couches (which is what we were looking for). We sat around here for a bit deciding what to do. We strongly dislike our couches but no places were in our price range or had the type of couches we wanted. We had one more place in mind to try though…

Steinhafels. Also known as the hugest furniture store I have ever been in.

The escalator leading to the super expensive luxury couches. We immediately felt in over our heads, that is, until we saw the clearance section!

Where we found our beaut!

And where I got so excited I forgot to take a picture in the store. We picked up part of it today (the other section wasn’t in the store) so we will hopefully get it this week! Stay tuned for the exciting picture 🙂

After Steinhafels, we came home to eat a quick snack before heading to a friend’s place to watch the Purdue game.

Bread, avocado, tomato & cheese. I think I saw this combo on Pinterest? Can’t recall, but very delicious.

Watched the Purdue game (so disappointed in this season) and then came home and basically crashed.

Today consisted of church, Integrative Nutrition modules and more registry scanning!

Today’s mission: Bedding & Bathroom

He had mixed emotions about the towels.

I wish I could tell you that we registered for pajama jeans…alas we did not.

And finally…half of our couch!

Excited to finally feel like a grown up! With doing the registry and purchasing a couch…we’re finally starting to feel like we’re growing up. It’s not so bad 🙂
