So, this title makes it seem like there were multiple bloggers at this meet up. However, it was just Alysha & me (and our significant others, of course).

After interviewing me for an article Alysha was doing, we decided we had to meet in person. Yay local bloggers!

I raved about El Beso to Alysha and since they had only had drinks and appetizers there I had to introduce her to the chorizo. Oh my goodness, the chorizo. So GOOD! Unfortunately, we were all talking so much that I forgot to take a picture. Trust me, it was delicious ๐Ÿ™‚

This morning I took a yoga class again at the same place I did last weekend. I like starting out Saturday with a yoga class. It starts the weekend off on a peaceful note. For whatever reason, today’s class seemed to flow more quickly than the previous. Maybe because we all weren’t newbies? Not sure, but I do know I worked up a sweat!

I decided to stay for the Mat Pilates class after as well. If you can remember back to my first Pilates class, it was not similar at all. We used a weighted bar (ouchie) and a piece called the “Magical Circle (pictured below)”

(source)

We did not do this move, but kept it in between our heels for the majority of the class.

Though it wasn’t as challenging as the previous pilates class, it was still a good workout.

It’s another gloomy day here so I’ve been snuggled up inside catching up on IIN work and cleaning the house. Ryan is being my hero by going to the grocery store for me, so I better make something extra special for dinner!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

P.S. Check out my guest post on Carrots N Cake!

Catchy title, eh?

I thought so. ๐Ÿ™‚

This morning I headed to a new to me yoga studio for a 9 am class. Of course, I had a groupon to use and this was my first visit of 30! I can go to around 10 different places for 30 classes of Yoga, PIlates, African Dance, Zumba, Kickboxing, etc. Oh, and I have to use all of these before June 30th. Whoops.

Fuel for the day. Whole wheat bagel, one side buttered, one side peanut buttered.

It was nice. There were only 5 of us and the instructor was really welcoming. I picture this being my Saturday ritual for a while!

Then it was off to the Saturday morning ‘Pump.

I love Pump, as you all know, but today I did not.

Today was hard. Probably the hardest class ever and I don’t know why. I felt extremely fatigued throughout the entire class and could barely even do my normal weights. Weird.

After I ‘Pump, I headed home to quickly shower, make a smoothie and head right back out the door.

Our agenda included picking up our wine shipment (!!!), grocery shopping & wedding band shopping.

Wiiiine. We’re members of the Oliver Wine Club, which is headquartered in Bloomington, Indiana. Oliver wine was basically the go-to wine for cheap college kids. They don’t sell a lot of the kinds we get shipped in the bi-yearly packages though, so it’s a special treat. I’m excited for the dessert wine (far right)!

No pictures of the wedding band…I want to keep it a surprise! But I think we both figured out which ones we like best. Another task marked off the list!

Tonight I’m not sure of dinner plans. I’m thinking a shrimp stir fry but who knows!

Toodles for now!

Hola! Tonight I headed to my first yoga class at an actual studio! And yes, I did purchase a Groupon for this ๐Ÿ™‚ What can I say, me and Groupon are BFFs.

For $20 I get to go to 5 Zumba or Yoga classes at Aspire Dance Studio in Pewaukee. I already like the Zumba classes offered at my gym, so I figured I would use my passes for the yoga classes.

The class went well! There was no “oooming” though (not like I really thought there would be…:) ) It was a pretty small class (only 4 of us plus the instructor) but that was kind of nice. It also nice that 2 of us were relatively new to yoga, so the instructor helped us out more with form. It felt sooo good to stretch after that crazy Pilates class yesterday.

I think yoga and I will become BFFs too.

Dinner

Dinner brought to you courtesy of Ryan Lynn! Friday Fish Frys areย huge here in Wisconsin (who knew?) and we had some fish in our freezer given from a friend so I wanted to have a healthier Fish Fry in our own home!

Ryan used a makeshift buttermilk batter (that didn’t work…) so he moved to egg wash base then coated with panko bread crumbs.

Love the crunch!

With sweet potato chips instead of regular potato.

Taken out of the oven just in time!

Granted this wasn’t the same thing as a typical fish fry…it was still pretty tasty. Left me full and happy, so what more can you ask for?

Question: Fish N Chips fan?ย I didn’t realize it was such a big deal here in Milwaukee until we moved here and saw Fish Frys at basically every restaurant!

Well ladies & gentlemen, yesterday I attended my first yoga class!

Yep I’m gettin’ back on that workout wagon like there is no tomorrow!

I’m not gonna lie. I was kinda nervous.

What if I look weird? What if everyone thinks I’m a noob? What if everyone knows what they’re doing and I don’t?ย

Blah. Blah. Blah.

All I heard from myself were excuses and since it is National Yoga Monthย I figured now is as good as a time than any to start!

I had to talk myself down and realize that A) probably no one is paying attention to me anyways and B) you gotta start somewhere.

I’ve always been intrigued by yoga but figured I wasn’t flexible, hippie, cool, collected enough to succeed at it. After starting to read healthy living blogs for about a year now (crazy!) I’ve realized that everyone was a beginner at one point and I’ll never know if I will enjoy it if I never try.

The verdict?

I LOVED IT!

It was so relaxing and it was a great beginner class. The instructor, Nancy made new & old people feel welcomed and at home. I think a main reason why I like yoga is that there’s really no being good or bad at it. It’s just…do what you are able to do at that moment in time. I already plan on attending the next class (tonight!).

Question: Do you practice yoga? Love it? Leave it? Let me know!
